Patent

Patent is the exclusive right granted by a government to an inventor or assignee to make, use and sell its invention and to exclude others from doing so for a limited period of time, in exchange for detailed public disclosure of the invention. To qualify for a patent, the invention must meet three basic tests i.e. the Invention must be Novel, Non-obvious, and it must be Useful.

Trade Mark

Trade Mark is a mark which identifies goods or services of a particular source from those of others. A mark includes a device, brand, heading, label, ticket, name, signature, word, letter, numeral, shape of goods, packaging, or combination of colours or any combination thereof.

Industrial Designs

For the purposes of Registration of Designs, a Design means only the features of shape, configuration, pattern, ornament or composition of lines or colors applied to any article by any industrial process or means, whether manual, mechanical or chemical, separate or combined, which in the finished article appeal to and are judged solely by the eye.

Copyright is an exclusive and assignable right granted by statute to the author or originator of certain literary, dramatic, musical & artistic productions, cinematograph films for a limited period of time to make copies of the same for publication and sale.
